Hi,
Anybody out there want to donate to fight cancer? I am running (yeah, picture that!) in the livestrong Challenge in two weeks. Any help would be greatly (!) appreciated.

Idea Of The Day: Free Cars
Two news items:
Here's my idea: The oil companies should buy up the car companies. Then they could give everyone a free car so they'd have to buy the gas. Kind of like razor blades and razors.
Brilliant idea?

How likely are you to eat your friends if stranded???
You know, these Texans just aren't ready for snow and ice!! We have had subzero temperatures for over 45 hours and precipitation for longer than that. We have snow, sleet and ice all over the roads. I work at the airport and everyone is out of de-icer! Truck couldn't get in with new supplies. Why do people think that I can do something about it and magically get them to their destination? Would they rather that we flew without it??? Most are resigned but there are always a few that are unreasonable.
Worse than that, my husband and I were supposd to be flying to New Orleans so I could dive at the aquarium and for a surprise birthday party for him. He brought me to work (very sowly - only car on the road). After he got home, he called and said he slipped on the concrete and was dizzy, head hurt, tennis ball knot on the back of his head, stinging and pins and needles in his neck and arms. Here I am at work at the airport with no car in an unprecendented winter storm, trying to deal with all the problems that my passengers think they have. I told him do not go to sleep, and I would call every 15 minutes!!! I called him frequently and got other people - pilots, coworkers, whatever - to call. Anyway, after working from 4:30am until 3:30pm, finding out that the de-icer could not get through, we cancelled our flights and got all our passengers were rebooked. By that time, Andy felt well enough to come and get me. Whew!
I was so hoping to go today, but that ain't gonna happen either. Almost all the flights are cancelled, we can't drive, and any flights that are going, I can promise that as a standby, we will not have a seat. So everything is cancelled and I guess we'll just enjoy my two days off (not having to deal with irtae passengers) in front of the fire with hot chocolate and our kitties! Once you capitulate to the circumstances, then you can enjoy the calm. Darn, I wanted to go though.
oe your day was better than ours!!!
Since most of the people I follow on Vox are super computer literate, what is your opinion about password generator programs and which ones do you use? The password situation is getting overwhelming when you have hundreds of password sites, some that don't matter too much and some that are very sensitive (i.e., financial sites).
At the risk of being uninteresting because all I see is dog pictures, stories, love, etc., etc., I have to tell you about my little kitty, Princess. She is a rescued snowshoe, beautiful and feisty at 8 pounds. She is a great little kitty! Since we moved into our new house two months ago, she has left us a dead mouse on the dining room floor which she must have gotten in the garage; and then she pranced in one day with a half dead one from outside and presented it to my husband, Andy; BUT, last night took the cake. We are watching the football game on TV, and I see Andy stare intently over by the dining room. He got up and yelled at me to come see the SNAKE!!!! There was a headless snake writhing in the after-death throes. Obviously, my little Princess had caught it in the garage. Now this brings up a few things. No 1, I am starting to wonder about my garage as being a Texas outback. What else might live out there? Is a scorpion next? No 2, will she bring it in my bed one night? and Now No 3, I often get up in the middle of the night or before daybreak. Now I am afraid to walk around in the dark becasue of what might be on the floors. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what else Princess thinks she should give to us. BTW, the head was in the garage. It was freaking my hubby out ;-)
